Registered Charity Number: 1035089

Keech CottageKeech Cottage are the regions primary children’s hospice. They providing leading care for children or young people who have life limiting health conditions, from across the Herts, Beds or Milton Keynes areas.

These children have a wide variety of different conditions that impose a limit to their lives, whether this be an impact on activities they can or can not do, they all unfortunately live only a short life, with only a couple (if that many) of them reaching adulthood.

Whilst some will live for years others may only live months. This is why Keech Cottage are so important to these children and their families.

The staff at Keech Cottage, provide care from medical to social, in addition to the emotional support and friendships that come as standard. This care comes to the families throughout the periods of illness and carry on for the families after the death of their loved one. This care can carry on as long as it is needed. To provide this care Keech Cottage have a custom built facility in Luton, where families can stay in house at a modern and refreshing building offering the highest standards in care, or through the community nursing support team families can receive care in their own homes.

Although this time is clearly difficult for all the families involved the aim for Keech Cottage is to help families make the most out of the precious time they have as a complete family. Whilst many of the children who are connected to Keech Cottage have only a short time left to live, they still have so much living to do.

Keech Cottage provides all this care completely free of charge to its families and can only survive with the help of donations. In each year Keech Cottage incurs running costs of £2million before they offer any additional benefits to their patients. Of this £2million only £500,000 comes from the NHS in funding. In order to keep this amazing charity afloat they need to gain a minimum of £1.5million per annum, and this is where Project1 Events aims to help.

In addition to running a series of events within our portfolio purely for Keech Cottage, and our ethical policy seeing them receive a further 5% from our annual profits we aim to increase their profile and become a secure part of their annual funding.
